Job opportunities are currently available at United Way of the Midlands and Certified Partner Agencies for the following positions:

Information Technology Specialist- The IT Specialist is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with Protection and Advocacy for People with Disabilities, Inc.  In this position, the IT Specialist will need to manage computer networks (LAN and WAN) and telephone voicemail systems, including maintenance of hardware, software, and back-up systems.  They will provide desktop support for 25 users at 4 locations, using 5 centrally located servers.  Database programming experience preferred. Lead Teacher- The Lead Teacher provides oversight for The Salvation Army’s Reading Program: Leveraging Literacy; sets curriculum for classes; recruits teachers and teaching assistants; recruits participants for the program; conducts pre-tests and post-tests with participants to monitor and document progress, maintains effective working relationships with schools; teaches participants in classroom setting and individually; ensures compliance with program policies and procedures. Reading Program Teacher- The Reading Program Teacher for The Salvation Army’s Reading Program: Leveraging Literacy: implements curriculum for classes; teaches participants in reading, assists the Lead Teacher in the recruitment and supervision of teaching assistants; recruits participants for the program; conducts pre-tests and post-tests with participants to monitor and document progress, maintains effective working relationships with schools; teaches participants in classroom setting and individually; works under the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher.
