State Government Campaign
Last year, employees from state agencies in South Carolina contributed $484,468 to United Ways and eligible non-profits across the state. Our statewide goal for '08 is to increase participation and raise $550,000. United Way Association of South Carolina works with United Way of the Midlands to provide staff support for recruiting a team to contact state agency heads and training agency Employee Campaign Managers. Trident United Way has responsibility for receiving and distributing all contributions. State employees are encouraged to allow knowledgeable volunteers working within local United Ways to allocate their gifts, but donors can designate any non-profit certified by the Secretary of State's Office.
