Designating Your Contribution
2007-2008 How to Give
United Way of the Midlands collaborates with agencies and contributors to meet the most pressing health and human service needs in the six counties we serve: Calhoun, Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg and Richland. Your contributions help fund programs that have a real and lasting impact on people's lives. You make it possible to build partnerships that accomplish the goal of a better community, and you help make the Midlands a better place for all of us to live.
While maintaining focus on local priorities, we respect varied interests and desires for choice in giving. When contributing to United Way of the Midlands, you may choose from the following options:
- Community Impact Fund-- By combining the investments of many contributors, substantial dollars are channeled to a portfolio of programs to meet the Midlands' most pressing needs. Local United Way volunteers determine the best way to address these problems. These volunteers minimize duplication among programs and look for measurable results, quality performance and innovative approaches.
- Community Councils-- Each council oversees specific target areas. Selecting to designate a Community Council allows you to serve the needs of the people and specific issues you most want to help.
- Certified Partner Agencies located right here in the Midlands that meet not only all legal requirements but also specific quality performance standards. (PDF of Certified Partner Agencies)
- A United Way located in another area.
We are grateful for your support of the community regardless of how you choose to contribute. We hope that you will consider a gift to United Way of the Midlands and help us meet pressing health and human service needs where you live. We believe that we offer you an easy and accountable way to support people in need right here in the Midlands community!
