Palmetto Society

Your leadership gift of $1,000 or more, joined with the generous gifts of others, will ripple out to the entire Midlands community. Contributions from community leaders are the driving force behind long-term solutions that are much greater than any one of us can achieve on our own.
By giving a Palmetto Society gift of $1,000 or more, you become a part of a select group of people who make a difference and change lives right where they live. This extraordinary group of individuals is a shining example of leadership, commitment and humanity.
Members of the Palmetto Society have the distinct opportunity to do what few others can do — impact the lives of thousands with one gift.
The Palmetto Society was established in 1984 and currently consists of more than 1,300 individuals who annually contribute $1,000 or more. Although donors do not give through the United Way for any perks or benefits, the Society does have unique opportunities to attend special programs or events during the year. The Palmetto Society is the sponsor and host of the Humanitarian of the Year Dinner that honors someone who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership, philanthropy and initiative in the human
service arena.
