Transitions opening delayed due to freezing temperatures
Due to a record number of freezing days in December and the continuation of snow and freezing temperatures in January, the opening of Transitions--our new transition center for the homeless--has been postponed to mid-May 2011.
Community steps up to provide building equipment and furnishings
Fort Jackson recently donated 190 high-quality steel beds with sealed-cover foam mattresses, 120 small storage cabinets and numerous other miscellaneous items. The furniture was moved by Nilson Van and Storage and is currently stored in a warehouse secured by Colliers International. In addition to the recent furniture donation, Carol Addy and the Mortgage Bankers Association are spearheading an effort to outfit our computer room in Transitions.
