TOCQUEVILLE Society

The Tocqueville Society was founded by United Way of America in 1972 to honor living and family foundations and persons who achieve high levels of personal giving--over $10,000 per year. This society exists in the Midlands due to the generosity of business and community leaders who demonstrate their commitment to their community. Through their compassion and philanthropy, these individuals demonstrate exceptional generosity and leadership by motivating others to emulate them in their giving and provide the impetus for real change.

For more information about the Tocqueville Society contact Maria DeHart.

Legacy Society

Fund the future by leaving money to the United Way in your will. People who make planned gifts live longer and happier lives!

Bequest: Bequests are one of the most common tools used to create a legacy. Our staff will work with you, your estate planner or another professional to structure a gift that reflects the values you and United Way share.

401K: It’s simple (and free, no lawyer needed!) to include United Way of the Midlands as a beneficiary of your 401(K) or IRA. You can leave a specific gift amount or choose a percentage of your 401(K) to United Way. Your Human Resources department can provide the forms.

  • Contact Maria DeHart with our Planned Giving Department or email us at legacy@uway.org to discuss your passions and ideas for your legacy.
