All wreaths can be picked up or will be delivered after Thanksgiving.

United Way of the Midlands and Richland Library will host its third annual Breaking Barriers Employment Resource Fair October 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
In partnership with the Midlands Area Consortium for the Homeless (MACH), this event will be held at Richland Library located at 1431 Assembly Street.

United Way of the Midlands is currently accepting nominations for the 2018 Humanitarian of the Year.
Women in Philanthropy (WIP) announced today Homeless No More as its 2018 grantee of $50,000 to help fund the agency’s program that provides life skills, professional development and personal coaching for women in crisis.
United Way of the Midlands formed the Youth in Transition Initiative to focus on young people, age 17 to 24, who are homeless or vulnerable to homelessness or are at risk for other poor outcomes due to a lack of social and financial support. This includes youth transitioning out of foster care or juvenile or adult justice; runaway youth; unaccompanied youth or other youth who fall through the cracks in our system of care.
This year, United Way will dedicate the funds raised through Midlands Gives to WellPartners, our dental and eye care clinics for uninsured and under-insured individuals. WellPartners offers dental and vision health services that provide preventive and restorative care to children and adults in the Midlands. Our team of professionals provide a complete range of dental and vision care. Last year, WellPartners provided care for almost 6,000 individuals.
The Spirit of the Midlands Award for Corporate Leadership is presented to a corporate partner that embodies an overall spirit of giving through contributions of time, leadership and resources in support of United Way’s work in the priority issues of student success, financial stability and health access.
The Humanitarian of the Year Award is given each year to an individual who clearly demonstrates extraordinary leadership in philanthropic and human services. It is the highest single honor of philanthropic achievement in the Midlands.
