United Way of the Midlands is holding our fourth annual Ready, Set, Supply! drive to help stock the classrooms in our MRC partner elementary schools across four counties.

3 Ways to Get Involved

United Way is challenging the community to come together to support the dedicated educators who play a vital role in shaping our children's future. By providing teachers with the tools and resources they need, this initiative aims to create a more supportive learning environment and enhance educational opportunities for children in the community.

  1. Volunteer to Sort & Pack

    Volunteer Dates: July 19 and July 21-24 

    Roles include sorting, packing, organizing, and moving supplies. Great for team-building and community impact. All volunteers receive a United Way T-shirt.

  2. Give or Become a Sponsor

    Give

    Let us do the shopping for you! Donate directly to our Ready, Set, Supply! fund to help us purchase additional school supplies for teachers.

    Become a Sponsor 

    Support more students and teachers, or even entire classrooms, and showcase your business’s commitment to education. 

    Sponsorship Tiers: 

    • $750 – Sponsor 5 Students 
      Equip 5 students with full sets of school supplies.
    • $1,500 – Sponsor 10 Students 
      Provide complete kits for 10 students to start school prepared.
    • $2,500 – Classroom Sponsorship 
      Supply multiple students or an entire grade level—help fill critical gaps across our MRC schools.
    • $5,000 – Community Champion Sponsor 
      Make a high-impact contribution supporting multiple classrooms or an entire school. 

    Your business will receive special recognition for its extraordinary commitment to local students.

  3. Collect & Deliver Supplies

    Collection Window: June 1 – July 11
    Delivery Window: July 11-23, excluding weekends, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    Location: United Way of the Midlands, 1818 Blanding St, Columbia, SC

    We are asking folks to collect items from the list below and, if possible, to deliver them in banker boxes or printer paper boxes, clearly labeled with your company name and “School Supply Donation.” Smaller boxes and labels make it easier for our staff and volunteers to transport the supplies to the teachers and schools we serve. Thank you for your cooperation!
