Delta Dental of South Carolina invests $50,000 in United Way of the Midlands – WellPartners Dental and Eye Clinic
Delta Dental of South Carolina has presented United Way of the Midlands (UWM) with a $50,000 grant to support UWM's WellPartners Dental Clinics by providing improved technology for its dental clinics.
“WellPartners is about more than just dental care, which is why we are so appreciative of Delta Dental of South Carolina for awarding these funds to support this important initiative,” said Sara Fawcett, President & CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “We want to help people live healthier, better lives, and this grant from Delta Dental of SC will allow us to improve the dental care we provide.”
WellPartners offers free dental and eye care services that provide preventative and restorative care to uninsured and underinsured children and adults in the Midlands. WellPartners is owned and operated by United Way of the Midlands with additional support from community partners, including Lexington County, Lexington Medical Center, Prisma Health and Richland County.

In the 2021-2022 fiscal year, WellPartners Dental Clinics provided dental services to 644 adults and 173 children. Over 145 volunteer dentists and hygienists conducted a total of 3,541 patient visits. WellPartners also offers free eye care and helped 870 individuals received eye care services which included 726 comprehensive eye exams, 102 optical encounters and 42 emergency and office visits.
