Enterprise Holdings' and its employees raise almost $200,000 for United Way of the Midlands

Columbia, S.C. (April 12, 2019) – Enterprise Holdings, a longtime supporter of United Way of the Midlands, closed its annual campaign raising more than $196,000, an increase of 26 percent over last year’s results.

“United Way is fortunate for its long-standing partnership with Enterprise Holdings whose investments help our efforts to meet the most critical health and human service needs of our local community,” said Sara Fawcett, President & CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “The employees of Enterprise Holdings should be proud of this year’s campaign and the impact they will have on our community. Overall, Enterprise allows us to continue to lead the charge in improving the Midlands by working to prevent homelessness, providing affordable eye and dental care and preparing children to enter kindergarten ready to learn and graduate high school on time.”

Employees of Enterprise Holdings’ South Carolina subsidiary (which includes parts of coastal Georgia) raised nearly $131,000 to support United Way’s mission to improve the quality of life for every person in the community. This year’s campaign was led by Tyson Bragg, Enterprise Holdings South Carolina Group Human Resources Manager.

In addition to the employee campaign, Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Holdings in South Carolina, David Solano, and Tyson Bragg presented United Way with a corporate match from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation totaling just over $123,700. The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings, which, through its integrated global network of independent regional subsidiaries and franchises, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands. This match equals 50 percent of the total funds raised by Enterprise Holdings employees throughout South Carolina and coastal Georgia. The remaining funds will be distributed to other United Way chapters throughout South Carolina and coastal Georgia.

“Enterprise Holdings is committed to promoting long-term community growth and prosperity in the Midlands, and United Way provides us the opportunity to keep our philanthropic investments dedicated to improving health and human service needs in our local community,” said Tyson Bragg, Group Human Resources Manager. “We know that when our communities succeed, so do we.”
