Women in Philanthropy (WIP), an engagement group associated with United Way of the Midlands, holds its annual Leadership Breakfast on Thursday, December 15 from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. at The Palmetto Club. This event helps to raise funds for WIP’s Community Impact Partners serving women and children in the Midlands.

“We have an elite group of women change-makers on the panel at this year’s Leadership Breakfast, who will celebrate and share how their collective impact has left an imprint on our community,” said Tammy Jones, WIP Events Chair.

This year’s panelists include Alyssa Richardson, Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of U.S. Senator Tim Scott; Lindsay Cox, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones; Ann Warner, CEO of Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network; and Karen Yip, Broker, Owner and Realtor of Yip Premier Real Estate. The moderator for this event will be Mental Health Consultant Dr. Heather Henley.

WIP is also teaming up with United Way’s Resilient Midlands program to help make a difference in the lives of children this holiday season by contributing to their Resiliency Kit Drive. Join WIP and Resilient Midlands in spreading holiday cheer by donating some most-needed items to children throughout the community. A collection box for items will be at the event. Items may also be dropped off in our WIP Cares for Kids box located at United Way, 1818 Blanding St., Columbia, SC 29201.

Admission to WIP’s Leadership Breakfast is $40 for guests, $30 for WIP and YLS donors, and $50 at the door for all. Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at womeninphilanthropy.com. Attire is business. The Palmetto Club is located at 1231 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
WIP received sponsorships from Abacus Planning Group and Richland Library Friends and Foundation.

WIP offers investors a variety of ways to stay involved throughout the year including numerous networking and personal development opportunities, social gatherings and fundraising events. To learn more about Women in Philanthropy, visit womeninphilanthropy.com.
