Trauma experienced during childhood impairs development, and its harmful effects can last a lifetime. The early experience of trauma is more common than people think and has a tremendous cost to our community. Our community can help prevent trauma. But we must first acknowledge it exists. And then we must be willing to invest in the change to tackle it head on. All children deserve the opportunity to realize their full potential. This is not happening in Richland County today.
Resilient Richland aims to reduce the stigma of trauma and equip individuals and organizations with information and skills to build resilience among children and youth.
